No! Contapps does not alter your contacts. We believe that your information belongs to you, and we will not copy, store, interfere or change any of your private info. In fact, all the contact information stays with your device and your services…we just provide a better experience to help you get the most from your contacts!
Yes! However, due to Facebook’s API policy, we cannot sync your contacts’ pictures with your Facebook account without asking you for your username and password. After you have connected your Facebook account with Contapps, you will be able to perform an automatic sync to all your contacts via our Facebook settings menu, or manually sync each contact from his profile (provided that he is a Facebook friend). We have encountered a known issue with Facebook where social feeds that contain links aren’t updated to your mobile device. This is why they don’t appear on our social feed widget. Rest assured, we’re working on this issue and hope to solve it soon. In the meantime, keep in mind that “simple” feeds (with no links) do update regularly.
If you don’t have any contacts stored on your device or synced with your Google account, you may not be able to see your contacts when you open Contapps. For example, if you only sync your contacts with Outlook, you likely won’t see them on Contapps. To solve this issue, copy your contacts to your device’s SD card or sync them with your Google account. We’ll be addressing this issue in a future update!
While most countries enjoy great support from Google Maps, we have received reports that some areas have little or no Google Maps support. If this is the case, the Contapps address widget won’t display a map. If you encounter this problem, please let us know.
When certain information about a contact is missing, such as email address, telephone number or IM, the corresponding quick access button will appear faded and you won’t be able to click through. You can easily fix this by adding the relevant information to your contact’s details; simply click “options” and “edit” to edit the contact’s information. For example, when you update a contact’s IM field, you can then activate the IM account to chat with him/her via IM. |
